dell inks are certainly formulated differently from hp inks. now, lexmark inks would work, as they certainly make the cart dell uses.



using the wrong inks can cause issues approaching leaking or clogging, and could ruin your cartridges.



if you propose, will a hp cart fit my dell printer, that's categorically a no. they're not the same size and could become jammed contained by the carriage and break the printer.

Dell would want you to buy dell ink and not HP. There's no process that Dell would have near printers take competitors INK.



Try finding a re-fill store. There are tons of them presently a days. I've seen them at malls, strip malls, etc. They enjoy new ink cartridges or they will simply re steep your old ones for smaller quantity then partly the price of a new one.



Re-fills may or may not be as fitting as a new one. You can try it out and see for yourself.
