I print 1 copy from HPDESK JET 5740 and it keep on printing multiple copies?

I am using window XP



The Properties on the printer to see if the default settings is set for 1



I select the 'printer' deity near the clock, right click it and cancell adjectives print jobs. Turn rotten power to the printer and then rear legs on. When i do the printer turns itself on and starts printing agan!!!

turn off the printer and the computer, and re-start it.

whnever u hand over the print command, at that dialog box chk the no. of copies to be printed. u must have accidently set it at more than 1.

u can also chk it from the printer(u return with this whn u go to start)--properties. surrounded by that usually in advanced nearby is an option of print spooled 1st. unckek it. and whn setting printer default, chk no. of copies as 1.
Check the printer cache (spooler), you may have to stop and restart the spooler service.
