i basically get a Lexmark x5150 but i own no install disc next to it and it say unlock scanner and next turn on powe

The "unlock scanner" message refers to the physical scanner. At the factory scanners come locked, purpose the light that is to say needed to scan an image won't if truth be told move up or down, this is in direct to protect the scanner when shipping. If you look at the bottom of the scanner, or the manual, here should be some switch to slide forward that will unlock the scanner. As for the install CD, you can download the most modern software from the Lexmark website. I have included a association to the x5150 drivers for Windows XP in my sources, also a correlation to the manual
Go to lexmark.com, stir to "drivers and downloads", and find the driver for that printer.
