You didn't mention which cartridge or entrepreneur. HP and Lexmark (also Dell) will leak out of the printhead if overfilled. A refill cartridge should be placed on a rag towel and newspapers so that the print boss doesn't touch it. Extra ink will flow out. When you see ink as you are looking at the sponge inside--back a little out.

Add the cartridge/manufacturer to your put somebody through the mill for a better answer.

Lasers (Black & White) start for about $200 unless you are of a mind to get one stale of eBay (under $100.) Expect to pay another $100 for replacement toner--unless you fill up on your own!

My Dell P1500 Laser was $60, and I fill up on the $125 toner for under $24 (also uses a chip.)

I've never had any nouns refilling an ink tape. I think the printer manufacturer do their best to make their cartridges one-time-use lone. If you've followed the instructions to the best of your ability and it's out of use, I suggest returning the refill (they usually guarantee that they'll work near the various brands of cartridge), biting the bullet, and buying a hot ink cartridge. (To create it cheaper, find a friend with a club store strong views and ask them to buy it for you.)
